About the Species
The Gaur has a dark brown hide, which approaches black when the Gaur ages. The lower part of the Gaur's legs is pure white. The Gaur's horns are either Yellow or Greenish with Black Tips.
About the Hunt
Gaur is considered to be quite dangerous to hunt. It can be extremely aggressive, especially at a wounding. With a accurate shot, a caliber .375 riffle will be appropriate for shooting a Gaur.
Habitat
Gaur habitat is characterized by large, relatively undisturbed forest tracts, hilly terrain below an elevation of 1,500 to 1,800 m (4,900 to 5,900 ft), availability of water, and an abundance of forage in the form of grasses, bamboo, shrubs, and trees.
